Wouldn’t an alarm system along with cameras achieve the same results as Videofied?
No and here's why. Usually when alarm companies sell and install cameras, the cameras are not really part of a monitored alarm system. In addition, most of these types of camera systems allow immediate access only to the property owner. The monitoring station never sees the video which means they can't verify if this is a false alarm or if a true emergency exists. The monitoring station has to contact the property owner to determine if the police should be notified.
With a Videofied security system, the monitoring gets the video when it is tripped. They assess the situation and can notify the police immediately if this is a true event. The result is quicker response by the police.
Why can’t I use a high-resolution camera with this system?
High-resolution cameras create videos much larger in size. This slows the transmission time to the monitoring station considerably. Low resolution videos transmit much faster which means a faster verification process. A faster verification process means quicker police notification and response.
Why does the video footage appear so basic?
The Videofied Security System's purpose is to verify, not identify. The video file is intentionally kept small so that it transmits as fast as possible to the monitoring station. Faster verification means faster police response.
Can the Videofied Security System be self-monitored?
No. Control panels for the Videofied Security System always send the data to a professional 24-hour monitoring center. You will only be notified when human activity has been confirmed. You will not be notified if the video trip was caused by a non-event like a box blowing by the monitor on a windy day.
Will inclement weather affect the security systems operation?
No. The MotionViewer has advanced algorithmic technology in the PIR. This means that the unit usually will not trigger when it rains, snows or if lightning occurs. In extreme weather cases, the MotionViewer might trigger.
