What is a Videofied Security System?
Videofied Security System is not like the well-known CCTV surveillance systems. Typical CCTV systems record videos that are accessed by the property owner.
Videofied is a complete security system that actually sends a short video clip with alarm notification to the monitoring station to verify if the triggered alarm is an actual event. Once verified, the monitoring station immediately notifies the proper authorities.
A verified video alarm results in quicker dispatch by police departments
Where can you use a Videofied Security System?
The major benefit about using a Videofied Security System is that it can be used anywhere as long as you can get a cell signal. This means that this security system can easily be set up for remote sites, outdoor locations and harsh environments.
Videofied has been used to protect cell towers in the hot deserts of Arizona and oil wells located in the frigid cold locations of Alberta.
You can also use a Videofied Security System as a standalone setup or you can use it to add additional security to existing systems.
Why should I use a verified video security system?
When a Videofied MotionViewer is triggered, it immediately sends a short video to the monitoring station. If the video shows an actual event, the police are notified that a verified event has been triggered which results in immediate police response.
If the video is triggered by a "non-event", the monitoring station doesn't notify the police. This prevents false alarms from being reported to your local authorities.
Police departments will respond quickly when there is a verified video of an intrusion occurring.
Where can you install a Videofied System?
Anywhere that you can get a cell signal. The Videofied Security System is wireless and is quite capable of operating on battery power. The batteries in the motion detectors last a long time. Control panels for this security system uses the 3G/4G cell network to communicate with monitoring stations. There are even ways that may help areas where the cellular signal may not be that great.
Does additional lighting need to be added at remote locations?
No. The MotionViewers have built-in infrared illuminators. The range on these illuminators for outdoors is about 30 feet.
Will inclement weather affect the security systems operation?
No. The MotionViewer has advanced algorithmic technology in the PIR. This means that the unit usually will not trigger when it rains, snows or if lightning occurs. In extreme weather cases, the MotionViewer might trigger.
Can the Videofied Security System be self-monitored?
No. Control panels for the Videofied Security System always send the data to a professional 24-hour monitoring center. You will only be notified when human activity has been confirmed. You will not be notified if the video trip was caused by a non-event like a box blowing by the monitor on a windy day.
Why does the video footage appear so basic?
The Videofied Security System's purpose is to verify, not identify. The video file is intentionally kept small so that it transmits as fast as possible to the monitoring station. Faster verification means faster police response.
Why can’t I use a high-resolution camera with this system?
High-resolution cameras create videos much larger in size. This slows the transmission time to the monitoring station considerably. Low resolution videos transmit much faster which means a faster verification process. A faster verification process means quicker police notification and response.
Wouldn’t an alarm system along with cameras achieve the same results as Videofied?
No and here's why. Usually when alarm companies sell and install cameras, the cameras are not really part of a monitored alarm system. In addition, most of these types of camera systems allow immediate access only to the property owner. The monitoring station never sees the video which means they can't verify if this is a false alarm or if a true emergency exists. The monitoring station has to contact the property owner to determine if the police should be notified.
With a Videofied security system, the monitoring gets the video when it is tripped. They assess the situation and can notify the police immediately if this is a true event. The result is quicker response by the police.
